June 12 to 18

2006.06.19

Just a recap of my previous week. Nothing interesting here but read on if you want.

June 12 - All of us know that this day was celebrated with the commemoration of our country’s independence day. Which is so effing ironic because it seems that our country is still enslaved by those we sought independence from. Anyway, my friends and I spent it relaxing at a place in Bukidnon where I spent more or less 7 years of my childhood. It was fun and tiring at the same time. It’s a good thing that I didn’t get a relapse of my flu. What was fun about it was that we had a total of 187 pictures of the event. The day ended with a sad note for me though. I got an SMS message that afternoon that my best friend’s father had passed away. God bless his soul.

June 14 - I went to the wake of my best friend’s father. As far as I know, he died of cancer. I couldn’t even recognize the body inside the coffin. I only realized it was him when I looked at the photo. Seeing a dead person always gets thoughts rushing to my head. Thoughts like how he felt during his last seconds on earth or if he was fulfilled with how his life had been. It was evident that he was a very good man. Many came to his wake and gave their last respects that the house was buzzing with people all night long. It got me to thinking, “If I died, would this many people come to pay their last respects to me?”. Well, I guess I will find out when my time comes.

June 15 - It was a local holiday (city’s charter day) here where I live. So my friends and I once again backpacked it and went back to Bukidnon to have a sequel of what we did the last time. More picture taking, more eating and more merry making. Knowing that this would be the last holiday in a long time, we made the best of it. This time, we were 5 pictures shy of the total we had the last time. We were aiming to get 300 pictures but it was just too tiring. Maybe the next time we’d be able to nail 300 or more pictures.

June 17 - Spent the night singing with my friends at a local videoke joint named M2.

June 18 - Went out singing with my friends again at another local videoke joint named Loretos.

The previous week has been, by far, the most event-filled week of my life. I just wish that every week was like it.

  4. April Zara: Bukidnon is a big area. I was being vague in purpose for personal reasons. I’m not familiar with the PBB contestant but I hear that she hails from Malaybalay, Bukidnon. We didn’t even go that far. ;D

Carlmans: Awwww…unsa man diay? Lingaw man gyud tong 12 ug 15.

Kikaygal: Hehehe. I guess it was to make up for the time when I had the flu.

  5. You have been making the rounds of all the videoke joints in town. You must be a familiar sight in that area by now. :-)
