You’ve been noticed

2006.04.06

It has only been now that I have had this much excitement over my blog. I’ve been noticed over at Rice Bowl Journals. Hooray for me and my blog! LOL!

Special thanks to Shane for telling me about it.

Minimalistic

2006.04.01

I came up with this (current) template a few days ago because I was really bored at home. I call it minimalistic. As opposed to the traditional header - content - sidebar - footer formula of blog templates, I have opted to remove the sidebar and put them on separate pages. With this (current) template, I can get the reader to focus on my posts (or i am hoping it would).

This design would not have materialized had I not stumbled over these pages: Schinckel’s tutorial on how to put archives, categories, links and etcetera on their own pages and Spiffy Corners for the spiffy curved corner effects.

That’s about it. Till later.

I failed to mention that the tips and tricks in Schinckel’s tutorials will most likely only work for blogs hosted in Blogsome.

Paranoia no more

2006.03.28

As of this posting, I have decided to not moderate comments manually anymore. I have thought about it and in the span of time that I have been blogging, I have never needed to delete a spam comment. Maybe perhaps these freakin’ spammers realize that spamming comments in a blog makes the blog’s rating in some Technorati-like site(s) go higher — well, at least my handicapped thinking tells me that it does.

So you can now comment at will. No censorship and bias. Don’t be shy! Comment to your heart’s content.

Later.

I don’t quite understand the comment moderation of WP. Even though I have turned off comment moderation, some comments are still held for approval. Weird!

Update: 04.01.2006 - 13:26

Now I know why comments are still held for moderation. In the condition Hold comments in queue if it contains n number of links, I set n to blank meaning 0 (zero). So if the comment body contains 0 (zero) number of links (which is always the case), it is automatically held for moderation. Hah, I ain’t as dumb as I thought to be.
